SENEGAL, north, central and Casamance region

Produced by Sara Fijo / Gondola Films for the World Bank Micro-documentaries written and made by José M. Borrell The Casamance region is the region of southern Senegal that, although connected to eastern Senegal, is separated from the rest of Senegal by Gambia. Internal mobility barriers, cultural and political barriers have hindered the integration of Casamance with the rest of Senegal. In the north and central region there is a lack of citizen commitment to promote community participation, responsibility for frontline service and cohesion social participation requires a better participation of local communities in their development to strengthen the capacity and responsibility of local institutions. Infrastructure construction is one of the foci that can help build trust with the improvement of connectivity and the inclusion of Population towards new markets.
